Buenos Aires, November 27 (NA) – The confrontation between Pilar Smith and Daniel Gómez Rinaldi took a new turn, after the host accused him of 'insulting' her and confirmed she sent him a legal letter. The journalist spoke publicly and offered an apology. However, he also stood by some of his comments and made it clear that the conflict is not yet closed, according to Agencia Noticias Argentinas. On the show 'Intrusos,' Pilar Smith recounted that she was completely bewildered by Gómez Rinaldi's remarks, which came after her comments on the 'Martín Fierro Latino' awards. The host stated that she had always had a good relationship with him, that her criticism was strictly about television, and that Rinaldi's comments crossed a personal and professional line. For this reason, she confirmed that, along with her lawyer, she decided to send a legal letter: 'This cannot be allowed.' 'That same night I got angry, and the next day too,' the journalist explained. He said he felt that Pilar only highlighted the negative and did not value the work behind the event. 'No one talks about anyone's body. Not mine or anyone else's's,' he added. Hours later, and already amidst the public fallout, Daniel Gómez Rinaldi spoke on camera and directly addressed the issue. The first thing he did was admit his mistake: 'I apologize to Pilar. Pilar is very extreme about this topic.' He also apologized to Dani Ambrosino for a previous jab, to differentiate what he considers television humor from the incident that prompted the complaint. However, he bluntly admitted that his reaction was disproportionate: 'I made a mistake, I was wrong.' Finally, when asked if he would like to talk about it personally, he avoided committing: 'I didn't write to her. I don't say that phrase 'if she felt offended.'
